About Christenson Developments

The '70s - Lloyd Christenson starts Christenson Contractors and establishes a reputation for quality built, single-family homes. Before he is 35 years old, Lloyd builds and manages over 125 rental units and 3 commercial properties. He also builds 15 custom homes. In 1979, Greg Christenson joins the company and builds 1,000 rental units under Chris-Con Builders.

The '80s - The market slows due to the National Energy Program, soaring interest rates and over building. In 1989, Greg Christenson and Peter Dirksen team up to form Christenson Developments and Can-Der Construction.

The '90s - Christenson Developments explores the concept of the Urban Village and pioneers creative ways to provide retirement communities to the baby boomer generation with style, dignity and grace.

2000–2010 - Christenson Developments builds Railtown in downtown Edmonton and embarks on the first urban village concept. This project begins an evolution that strategically locates self-contained units for seniors close to amenities.

2010–Present - Christenson Developments have created over 4000 award winning multi-family homes in Edmonton and surrounding areas. The company’s long-term commitment to excellence is demonstrated by board level involvement in the Canadian Home Builders Association and the Alberta New Home Warranty Program. Christenson is also actively involved with both the Alberta and Edmonton Home Builders Associations and the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce.
